FITNESS: Korean Health Hoop

Last week I received my highly anticipated Korean Health Hoop...aka torture device. (lol) I've wanted one of these for some years now, but never really bothered to make the purchase. I searched on ebay and the best buy I came across was from the seller mifasports. I paid a total of $29.99 including shipping from South Korea for the around 2.5lb hoop. It was a pretty decent price considering these hoops can go upwards of $60. I've heard of individuals purchasing them at their local "Chinatown" for under $20bucks...but seeing as I don't live in a diverse city..that wasn't happening for me.

The claims are that the hoop will help slim the waist, massages, and helps promote good digestion. I'll be trying to use the hoop every other day or so. The first time I tried it (April 15th), it wasn't painful like some reviews stated. It actually tickled a little. I hooped for maybe 15-20min or so the first time...The next day...I was NOT able to hoop lol. My abdominal area was definitely sore. I skipped a day and continued the following day. It wasn't so bad though I did have a little pain, but not enough to make me stop. I shall be monitoring how well this works and if it was worth the price (along with regular exercise). If anything at least I'll be burning more calories compared to sitting at the computer lol.

These are the projections on the hoop. There's a slight air bubble and the base of it is hard.

These are my nails for the week, Icecream polka-dot nails. I wanted something eye-catching and vibrant...plus I don't have many pastel colored polishes.

Today I exfoliated my hands with my sugar scrub minus the lemon, and I decided to do a look with my new Orly polish in "Honeymoon in style". I painted all of the nails in the color only except the ring finger on each hand. I did a marble nail look on the ring fingers and added rhinestones. It's ok to me, though I thought I wanted something more mellow..now I want something more vibrant..We'll see how long this lasts..

RANDOM: a little this and a little that

Went out of town on Friday..finally. I'd previously been busy with school work on the weekends so I hadn't been able to go anywhere..

Stopped by Sally's and saw they had a few of their Orly polishes on clearance for 1.99 so I picked up two! Yes it is true that I personally find it hard justify paying over 3 bucks for one nail polish...unless the color is absolutely amazing. I don't enjoy buying anything at regular retail price honestly...lol Anyway. These are the two colors I picked. "Honeymoon in style" (right) and "Razzle" (left). Razzle isn't a color I'd usually snatch up but I figured why not? I think the Razzle would look nice against green, turquoise, and/or gold.
Also went by what I like to call "the health food store", and I decided to try Izze, which is sparkling fruit juice. I tried the grapefruit flavor... I must say..it was yummy..

Picked up some accessories as well! The first pair was 4.99 and the second pair was only 2.79 and I also got 15% off.

Found this Nine west purse at Ross for 24.99 I really liked the shape and color.

I really couldn't figuire out what to do with my nails the previous weekend so I just...did anything lol
I used Sinful colors "Mint Apple" (947) on all fingers exept the ring finger. On the ring finger I used Sinful Colors "Snow me white" (101) as the base color, added some newsprint like in my *newsprint nails tutorial *, then I topped it off with green dots in Sinful Colors "Innocent" (944) using my dotting tool. Didn't do anything very out there seeing as I couldn't make up my mind!

SKIN: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Today I decided to do a facial. I felt my skin looked a bit dull, plus I haven't used a mask in a while. This time I decided to go with the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. Lucky me..my mom sells and uses it, so of course she had some on hand..muahaha *lightning strikes* uh..yeah...lol
"Clays have been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask.
Cleopatra used clay from the Nile river and the Arabian desert over 1800 years ago, as part of her beauty ritual.
German and Roman spas have been using clay packs and treatments in the spas they built 4,000 years ago. Many of these spas still exist and use clay even today.
Pliney the Elder devoted an entire chapter of his Natural History" to the many uses of clay for pimples, black heads and skin tightening."

I've used the mask before and felt it was a bit drying, so I decided to add some other ingredients.

This is what I used here. Two and a half scoops of clay, half a spoon of honey, one spoon of castor oil, one spoon of vatika oil , and a little water. I mixed the chunkiness together and added enough apple cider vinegar to smooth out the mixture enough to be applied.

After I mixed well I applied and let sit while I was editing photos! This is what it looked like applied...
After letting it sit and harden and get all crackely..*It will look like the desert on your face* I washed off with warm water and a handy dandy rag over the tub (it's messy). As for final results, I didn't notice an overly amazing right away difference after I washed it off *which takes a while* BUT my face felt really smooth and more radiant. It deff felt clean and it didn't look dull at all. After looking at it a bit more, the texture of my skin has improved. I keep touching my face lol. My pores definitely feel unclogged to a certain degree. I'll keep using maybe once a week to see what kinds of results I get over time and will give more insight!

EDIT: Um yeah..I woke up this morning..Looked at my face and all I can say is that it looks great. I hadn't exfoliated this week, and the masked deep cleaned and went a little farther than exfoliation. My skin definitely looks more radiant and smooth. THIS WILL BE ADDED into my weekly skin regimen. If once a week is too much, I'll cut it down to every two weeks or less if needed. I'll also be using it on some problem areas on my body to see how well it does..Toodles for now!

RANDOM: cell phone charm/Sami Yusuf

I'm up listening to Sami Yusuf..this song is so captivating to me..I was introduced to his music by an Arabic pen pal of mine in Egypt several years ago. I was hooked to his voice instantly..
Anyway..
I purchased this bow tuft cell phone strap on ($0.99 and free shipping)....Ebay of course lol..only thing that I found odd was that it was supposed to be purple according to the photo and description..lol (well that and the fact that it took like 1 and a half months to ship from Hong Kong..believe me I've had many other items ship alot faster than that from Hong Kong) I'm not bothered though, I think it looks better and more vibrant in this color (fuchsia??) I planned on giving this to my sister in its purple state..but the color is really making me reconsider and just buying another...Would that be wrong?? lol
