I know I am! I surely don't care to purchase them whenever I need a biscuit fix for breakfast or dinner, so I decided to make a slight spin off from a biscuit recipe I came across. The parsley and cheese measurements don't have to be precise and can be omitted all together without altering the rest of the recipe. The vegetable shortening can also be oil or butter (I haven't tried using butter personally). Either way, I couldn't have just one *licks lips*. Hope you enjoy ;D
Green, green, and more green. I was feeling a bit festive, so I decided to go for a nice deep yet warm toned green and up the glitter factor by adding some small rhinestones (1.5-2mm in size) on top in light and dark green which can be found here.
I also used the airshield topcoat. I'm not quite sure about it as of yet. While it provides a nice shiny finish and dries quickly I've noticed that it tends to make thicker polish applications peel, chip off, or lift from the nail somewhat easily. I also notice discoloration/darkening of the topcoat after around a week or so. I'll be looking for a new topcoat to try soon~!
I've been away for quite some time, yet felt the urge to get out some things via creative energy..so to speak lol. Without further ado, I'd recently come up with this idea after wanting to do some work with LEDs to give off a neon sign effect without the expense and complexity of an actual neon sign. I wanted to surely be able to do it myself, but how? I discovered el' wire which is basically a wire that emits glowing light and can be used for various projects. It's also relatively inexpensive in comparison to other lighting out there. I decided to take to photoshop to roughly illustrate my idea and put the wheels in motion! I've already purchased my el' wire and am currently negotiating with a seller for a laser cut mouse head that fits the measurements that I need for my piece XD Hopefully this idea will materialize soon enough so I can come back with the actual product! *Excited*Minahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03425116623654534095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-465658726149655130.post-81197303486913962752011-11-10T15:57:00.000-05:002012-11-03T00:45:58.550-04:00NAILS: Nails for the week 10These are my nails for the past week. La Femme blushes have made their round on you tube so I was a little surprised that I hadn't heard of them sooner...but then again I was never a blush person to begin with..*blinks* Well hasn't that changed now. I've yet to come across any bad reviews of the blushes themselves though I have come across not so great reviews of the online reseller MakeUpMania. Many reviewers had issues with the shipping time, packaging for shipping, and not being informed of certain blushes in their order being out of stock. I personally had no issues with my order/s regarding shipping time. With both orders I placed, I received my orders on the third business day (Ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday for both orders that were placed almost one month apart).I liked the blushes yet was disappointed that I didn't try varying colors so I ended up placing the 2nd order.

About a month ago I purchased the Bdellium Tools Smokey Eye 5 Eco Friendly Brush Set from Amazon.com. The set is currently available for $26.10 + 4.99 shipping a total of $31.09. I paid $1.09 because I had accumulated $30.00 in amazon gift cards thanks to SWAGBUCKS! I could have gotten the set completely free..but yeah I didn't want to wait for my other gift card to go through since it would take a few more days LOL -_-; ANYWAY. The set consisted of:

5 Professional Eco-friendly makeup brushes

All sustainable bamboo handles and vegan soft synthetic bristles.

All recyclable aluminum ferrules. 100% cruelty free.

The collection of perfect blending & lining tools you need to create beautiful smoky eyes.

#781B Crease, #777B Shadow, #769B Angled Contour, #760B Liner/Brow, #716B Smoky Eyeliner

I also wanted to go ahead and say that all of the brushes were incredibly soft. No scratching..as it should be lol. The brushes were also a bit shorter than I imagined and super lightweight which felt a little weird. Oh yeah..and I LOVE the color!

I'm always on the lookout for well priced and good quality pigments and while on you tube I stumbled across a tutorial using Glamour Doll Eyes eye shadow pigments (http://glamourdolleyes.com/). I took a look around their website and decided I would try out a few of their pigments. While browsing I saw that they provide eyeshadow towers with various shadows in different number combinations. I decided to get the 4 shadow "Olivia" stack ($14.00) , and the 5 Shadow "Yuliya" Stack ($17.50). Regular pigment containers are $6.00 each so I figured this would be a cheaper way to try out more shadows and get more product seeing as the sample's of course don't contain as much.
This isn't very great seeing as some staple breakfast foods don't appeal to me very much (cereal, oatmeal, cream of wheat, boiled eggs/sunny side up gaggggg gaaggg gagggg and triple gagg lol).

In my quest for nice breakfast treats I have discovered......YOGURT lol. I can't say that I was previously a fan..Though I didn't find yogurt gagg worthy I sure wasn't going out of my way to eat it. I was having a discussion with my friend about her son. She mentioned that he didn't like to eat certain fruits and that he likes yogurt..We started thinking and I was like "Ahaa!!" lol Came up with the idea to add fresh or dried fruit to his yogurt with granola and maybe add sprinkles on top (yes..tis trickery) *giggles*

I decided to try out the idea for myself due to my lack of breakfast ideas..This is what I came up with!

All I used was vanilla flavored yogurt (Dannon Light), a crushed crunchy granola bar (nature valley), and added a cereal mix (Granola cranberry Orange) I purchased from New Leaf Market. (I put fresh strawberry in my mom's)

I used Sinful Colors "Nirvana" for the chocolate, and "Snow Me white" for the cream and index finger. As for the Lilac and aqua color...I mixed those from Beauty Supply Store $1.00 polishes (lol) I could never find some shades in the price ranges that were good for me so I just decided to mix my own.
On the thumb I added some "sprinkles" and a strawberry slice..The sprinkles are nail art metal balls I purchased on ebay (set of 16 or 18).

My current workout vid! I'm trying to do this work out at least 5 times per week and include hooping as a part of my warm up/cool down. When I'm done with this work out I'm literally covered in sweat. Though it doesn't look intense it sure feels that way! I wasn't able to complete the full workout today due to lack of energy..I'd had a headache last night which eventually led to me throwing up the contents of my stomach lol..ugh..I know

So...I've been attempting to get into shape seeing as I had gained over or around 15lbs back after switching to Lo/ovral from ortho-tricyclen. While on Ortho-tricyclen the lbs. just melted off and I actually had to eat more to keep from losing more weight. I'd lost around 25lbs with very little effort. ANYWAY those days are over. It's hard as hyale just to drop 5lbs. lol Not to mention I hold on to water weight like woah.

While I want to drop the gained lbs. (not only because of all the clothes in my closet that I can no longer fit but to be sessy lol) it's hard to stay motivated!!! I've never been thin in my life..well except when I was in what pre-k
I honestly have no intention to be thin..I prefer the curvy look on myself..and other women actually.. Now..when I say curvy I don't mean cottage cheese, muffin top, blouse poppin', thinking you're "thick" when you're really fat curvy. (lol) I mean a body type similar to these ladies below...
I looked in my bathroom drawer and came across several contact cases so I thought I'd clean/disinfect and then bling one out! I decided to do this outside due to the fumes of the glue..

These are the supplies I used. I didn't want the green portion of the case to show through under the rhinestones so I painted it white with acrylic paint..

After painting that portion of the case I added glue to the bottom side of the large pieces *the whipped cream and green flower* so that they would stick well and added them onto the case. I spread the glue onto the case with a tooth pick in small sections and used my jewelry pliers (couldn't find my tweezers) to attach the rhinestones and pearls onto the surface of the case.

I included a closer look at the "whipped cream". This was made previously out of Acrylic latex plus silicone caulk piped through an icing tip. The rhinestones and flatback pearls were added before it dried and I didn't have any glaze on hand so I just sealed it with clear fingernail polish.

I didn't want to case to look too cluttered so I just stuck with rhinestones and flatback pearls for the left side of the case. I also didn't fully "bedazzle" all of the sides of the contact case because if I did it wouldn't be able to screw off! This is what it looks like finished.. :)
I decided to make spaghetti and meatballs previously. I came across a youtube vid featuring Ricotta meatballs. Hmmm I thought to myself..I bet that's yummy..Might as well try it! First I emptied the ground turkey into a container. I then added half a container of Ricotta cheese or enough so that the ratio of cheese to the meat was about 1:3 or 2:4. I added my seasonings/herbs and got ready to mix!

I got my lightly oiled pan ready (a skillet will work well) and set the heat to around medium. I shaped the meatballs and let them cook until full browned.

After the meatballs were fully cooked I drained off the excess oil and added my tomato sauce and 1/2-1 cup of water (depending on how much sauce you use) to let the flavors get acquainted with one another. I let that simmer anywhere from 10-30min covered...and That's is!
Of course my first stop to look for cute stuff was on ebay! Apparently I got side-tracked and started looking for earrings...that I didn't really need lol but...but...they were so cute! The search term I used was "Betsey Johnson earrings". Now...Are these really Betsey Johnson earrings..? lol I have no idea and I doubt it..Some claimed they were factory rejects with minor imperfections...yeah....idk about that but I'm not really concerned with the name..Just thought the earrings were cute..lol
(lol) I've wanted one of these for some years now, but never really bothered to make the purchase. I searched on ebay and the best buy I came across was from the seller mifasports. I paid a total of $29.99 including shipping from South Korea for the around 2.5lb hoop. It was a pretty decent price considering these hoops can go upwards of $60. I've heard of individuals purchasing them at their local "Chinatown" for under $20bucks...but seeing as I don't live in a diverse city..that wasn't happening for me.

The claims are that the hoop will help slim the waist, massages, and helps promote good digestion. I'll be trying to use the hoop every other day or so. The first time I tried it (April 15th), it wasn't painful like some reviews stated. It actually tickled a little. I hooped for maybe 15-20min or so the first time...The next day...I was NOT able to hoop lol. My abdominal area was definitely sore. I skipped a day and continued the following day. It wasn't so bad though I did have a little pain, but not enough to make me stop. I shall be monitoring how well this works and if it was worth the price (along with regular exercise). If anything at least I'll be burning more calories compared to sitting at the computer lol.
I painted all of the nails in the color only except the ring finger on each hand. I did a marble nail look on the ring fingers and added rhinestones. It's ok to me, though I thought I wanted something more mellow..now I want something more vibrant..We'll see how long this lasts..Minahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03425116623654534095noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-465658726149655130.post-27244406345874506392011-04-10T19:59:00.001-04:002011-04-12T09:33:23.469-04:00RANDOM: a little this and a little that

Went out of town on Friday..finally. I'd previously been busy with school work on the weekends so I hadn't been able to go anywhere..

Stopped by Sally's and saw they had a few of their Orly polishes on clearance for 1.99 so I picked up two! Yes it is true that I personally find it hard justify paying over 3 bucks for one nail polish...unless the color is absolutely amazing. I don't enjoy buying anything at regular retail price honestly...lol Anyway. These are the two colors I picked. "Honeymoon in style" (right) and "Razzle" (left). Razzle isn't a color I'd usually snatch up but I figured why not? I think the Razzle would look nice against green, turquoise, and/or gold.
I used Sinful colors "Mint Apple" (947) on all fingers exept the ring finger. On the ring finger I used Sinful Colors "Snow me white" (101) as the base color, added some newsprint like in my *newsprint nails tutorial *, then I topped it off with green dots in Sinful Colors "Innocent" (944) using my dotting tool. Didn't do anything very out there seeing as I couldn't make up my mind!
The stamper/scraper was around 2.50 with free shipping, and my image plate was around 4.99 with free shipping. I'll add seller details and more info laterzz. Hopefully I can figure out how to work this well lol I'd like to buy more plates to try out.
I felt my skin looked a bit dull, plus I haven't used a mask in a while. This time I decided to go with the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. Lucky me..my mom sells and uses it, so of course she had some on hand..muahaha *lightning strikes* uh..yeah...lol
"Clays have been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask.
Cleopatra used clay from the Nile river and the Arabian desert over 1800 years ago, as part of her beauty ritual.
German and Roman spas have been using clay packs and treatments in the spas they built 4,000 years ago. Many of these spas still exist and use clay even today.
Pliney the Elder devoted an entire chapter of his Natural History" to the many uses of clay for pimples, black heads and skin tightening."

I've used the mask before and felt it was a bit drying, so I decided to add some other ingredients.

This is what I used here. Two and a half scoops of clay, half a spoon of honey, one spoon of castor oil, one spoon of vatika oil , and a little water. I mixed the chunkiness together and added enough apple cider vinegar to smooth out the mixture enough to be applied.

After I mixed well I applied and let sit while I was editing photos! This is what it looked like applied...

After letting it sit and harden and get all crackely..*It will look like the desert on your face* I washed off with warm water and a handy dandy rag over the tub (it's messy). As for final results, I didn't notice an overly amazing right away difference after I washed it off *which takes a while* BUT my face felt really smooth and more radiant. It deff felt clean and it didn't look dull at all. After looking at it a bit more, the texture of my skin has improved. I keep touching my face lol. My pores definitely feel unclogged to a certain degree. I'll keep using maybe once a week to see what kinds of results I get over time and will give more insight!

EDIT: Um yeah..I woke up this morning..Looked at my face and all I can say is that it looks great. I hadn't exfoliated this week, and the masked deep cleaned and went a little farther than exfoliation. My skin definitely looks more radiant and smooth. THIS WILL BE ADDED into my weekly skin regimen. If once a week is too much, I'll cut it down to every two weeks or less if needed. I'll also be using it on some problem areas on my body to see how well it does..Toodles for now!
