Today I decided to do a facial. I felt my skin looked a bit dull, plus I haven't used a mask in a while. This time I decided to go with the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. Lucky me..my mom sells and uses it, so of course she had some on hand..muahaha *lightning strikes* uh..yeah...lol
"Clays have been used for centuries to beautify and refresh when used as a facial mask.
Cleopatra used clay from the Nile river and the Arabian desert over 1800 years ago, as part of her beauty ritual.
German and Roman spas have been using clay packs and treatments in the spas they built 4,000 years ago. Many of these spas still exist and use clay even today.
Pliney the Elder devoted an entire chapter of his Natural History" to the many uses of clay for pimples, black heads and skin tightening."
I've used the mask before and felt it was a bit drying, so I decided to add some other ingredients.
This is what I used here. Two and a half scoops of clay, half a spoon of honey, one spoon of castor oil, one spoon of vatika oil , and a little water. I mixed the chunkiness together and added enough apple cider vinegar to smooth out the mixture enough to be applied.
After I mixed well I applied and let sit while I was editing photos! This is what it looked like applied...
After letting it sit and harden and get all crackely..*It will look like the desert on your face* I washed off with warm water and a handy dandy rag over the tub (it's messy). As for final results, I didn't notice an overly amazing right away difference after I washed it off *which takes a while* BUT my face felt really smooth and more radiant. It deff felt clean and it didn't look dull at all. After looking at it a bit more, the texture of my skin has improved. I keep touching my face lol. My pores definitely feel unclogged to a certain degree. I'll keep using maybe once a week to see what kinds of results I get over time and will give more insight!
EDIT: Um yeah..I woke up this morning..Looked at my face and all I can say is that it looks great. I hadn't exfoliated this week, and the masked deep cleaned and went a little farther than exfoliation. My skin definitely looks more radiant and smooth. THIS WILL BE ADDED into my weekly skin regimen. If once a week is too much, I'll cut it down to every two weeks or less if needed. I'll also be using it on some problem areas on my body to see how well it does..Toodles for now!

SKIN: Shea body butter
I was out of my Shea butter mix so of course I needed to make more! This particular mix includes mainly Shea, cocoa butter, coconut oil, olive oil, and a few other oils. I prefer this texture over pure unmixed shea butter and/or cocoa butter. No additional melting down needed..just open the container and apply..Smooth~~
SKIN: Soaking and Exfoliating ahhh
I was feeling rather dingy (uh I know) so I decided to take a soak and exfoliate today. I ran some hot water and got ready for heated bliss. Soaking in hot water helps loosen up any dead skin prior to the exfoliation process. I poured in this yummy smelling Lemon-meringue and vanilla dead sea bath salt.
Immersed myself and got to scrubbing with my Korean Italy towel! I purchased a set of three on ebay for a few bucks. This is the ultimate exfoliator..Dead skin BE GONE...Just don't rub too hard or you may break the skin. It's made of 100% Viscose and is used in public baths in Korea..It's not recommended for use on the face and I wouldn't use it to exfoliate the body more than 3 times per week.
After I was done I rubbed down with some of my Vatika oil . End result....Smooth radiant skin. None of that dull ish lol
SKIN: Sugar scrub
Today I decided to do a sugar scrub for my face and hands. I like sugar scrubs of course for the exfoliation..and hey..it's CHEAP..tastes good too...lol Anyway, I started off by gathering my ingredients. I'm using, brown sugar, honey, and lemon.
Sugar is the exfoliator. Honey acts as a humectant/moisturizer (an ingredient that pulls moisture out of the air or other sources) and has antibacterial properties. It also can produce hydrogen peroxide which has lightening properties. The lemon has citric acid and also can work as a lightening agent. I do this for exfoliation and evening my skin tone (NOT specifically to lighten my skin as a whole lol). Combine the ingredients to your liking until you get a consistency you're happy with.
The consistency of my scrub looks like....
I tend to dampen my face..or wherever I'm going to scrub. Then I apply the mix and work it in. I let mine sit for however long and then rinse it off with warm water. Then take your lemon add some honey on top and suck away...lol ok..that's actually not good for your teeth enamel..but uh..it's good..*blinks*
